The importance of Accreditation, Credentials, Experience, Ethics and Communication.
At Vein Specialists of the South (VSS) we have identified five keys to quality vein care. Patients regularly agree and compliment the VSS team.
Accreditation matters: VSS has the ‘Seal of Approval’ of the Intersocietal Commission (IAC) for Venous Testing. The IAC grants accreditation in testing for vein disease to centers who demonstrate appropriate credentials, continuing education for technologist, and physicians who perform and interpret studies. They also review studies validating our quality assurance program. A commitment to accreditation is a commitment to quality.
Credentials matter: The credentials of the ultrasound technologist and interpreting physician are important. Studies are performed by Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS) and are interpreted by Dr. Harper, who is credentialed as a RPhS and Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). Dr. Harper is also a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and was in the inaugural class as a diplomat of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. These credentials attest to a commitment to excellence in venous evaluation and care.
Experience matters: The VSS experience includes over 10,000 venous evaluations and treatments since 1997. You will have an ultrasound lying down and then with you standing. Standing is the ‘stress test’ for vein disease exposing the leg veins to gravity to identify the source of the problem. Through combining your symptoms and evaluation with the VSS experience, we can recommend the best treatment for you.
Ethics matter: In today’s environment where vein evaluation and care is provided in an office setting, ethics matter. Since our inception as the first and premiere phlebology practice in the area, we have been committed to providing ethical, office-based vein care. That means providing the right care for every patient every time. Regularly patients seek us for a second opinion and are surprised to learn that less invasive procedures are available for their care.
Communication matters: Patients tell us our communication sets us apart from other practices. I know that communication matters to you because it matters to me. With your evaluation, a detailed vein map and written report is created. The clinical team provides education and shares this map with you to create an individualized treatment plan.
At VSS, our passion for quality vein care is at the core of our mission. We diagnose and treat each patient with integrity and compassion. With years of experience and thousands of new patient vein evaluations and treatments, our experience speaks volumes. It is time to choose VSS as your vein care specialists today.
