On September 21-23, several of the Vein Specialists staff attended VESSEL, the Vascular Disease Foundation’s (VDF) annual conference in Mclean, VA. Those who attended included, Dr Harper, Terri Harper, Leslie Fortson, Elizabeth Milligan, Gigi Goble and Ashley Brown. The team learned about several opportunities to build public awareness of vein and arterial disease, including Spirit of Women and V-Aware. There were several talks given on understanding the need for awareness, prevention and treatment of vascular disease, PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease), and CLI (Critical Limb Ischemia).
Notre Dame quarterback and national football league legend Joe Theismann, spoke about “Understanding the Need for Awareness and Tretment of Abdominal Aortic Anuerysms”. He is currently traveling the country promoting “AAAneurysm Outreach” and encouraging those at risk to get screened. AAA is the third leading cause of sudden death in men over 60.
